Your observed answers tell you how AI represents the business. Now examine the information available to support that representation. Start with the customer situations and gaps you recorded so the review stays connected to real decisions.
Work through the eight components
Each supporting guide explains what to gather, what to check and how to score. Record the results in the Readiness tab of your workbook.
| Component | What you will assess |
|---|---|
| Brand clarity | The offer, audience, location, practical facts and reasons to choose you. |
| Content structure | How clearly pages organise and expose that information. |
| Crawler access | Permissions and access to important public pages. |
| Indexability and readable content | Page responses, indexing instructions, links and extractable information. |
| Machine-readable meaning | Structured facts that agree with the visible content. |
| Freshness and consistency | Current facts across pages and platforms. |
| Wider public account | Relevant external descriptions and supporting evidence. |
| Connected information and actions | Live information and actions required by the customer experience. |
Divide the work sensibly
Marketing or the business owner can usually review messaging, practical information and external profiles. Ask your website provider to help with access, indexing, page rendering and structured data. Request a short report naming the pages checked, findings and any actions needed.
Record the actual sample: homepage, main experience pages, important locations, visitor information and booking information. Where pages use different templates, check each important type.
Score what you can demonstrate
The workbook contains every readiness question with score examples for its component. A confirmed missing requirement scores 1; partial coverage scores 2; established and repeatable coverage supports 3. Ownership and operating reviews support 4, and demonstrated learning across cycles supports 5.
Use U when a check is outstanding. Use N/A when a requirement genuinely does not apply. For connected capabilities, begin with the customer need: a business does not need every available protocol.
Your result
You will have eight component results and a list of specific gaps. Highlight low scores in brand clarity, content structure, crawler access and indexability. Keep individual weaknesses visible even if an average looks healthy.
Complete your readiness scorecard, then assess your management practice.
