Good information needs a working process to keep it accurate and useful. This stage assesses how your organisation manages AI Perception through the CODE framework: Contextualise, Observe, Diagnose and Enhance, followed by a return to observation.
Gather examples of actual work
Bring your business profile, observation records, investigations, delivered changes and review notes. A small team can demonstrate these through a shared document and a regular discussion. Score the practice that is operating today.
| Capability | Evidence to look for |
|---|---|
| Contextualise | A substantiated business profile shaping the assessment. |
| Observe | Relevant questions, retained answers and comparable repeated observations. |
| Diagnose | Findings compared with evidence, explanations investigated and priorities recorded. |
| Enhance | Delivered actions tied to findings, with owners and intended results. |
| Continuous learning | Follow-up observations and records showing how learning informs the next cycle. |
Complete the management questions
Open Management in the workbook. Work through each group, using its examples to choose your scores. If you completed Contextualise earlier, your entries will still be there in the same browser.
Occasional activity usually fits 2. A documented and repeatable practice supports 3. Regular reviews and follow-up support 4. Evidence of completed cycles that improve the approach supports 5.
An activity that does not happen scores 1. Use U if you need evidence from someone else before judging it. All five capabilities matter to the complete management cycle.
Read the profile
The workbook averages the questions within each capability. Its headline management result uses the lowest component average, because that identifies the limiting part of the cycle.
For example, strong planning and delivery can coexist with weak follow-up. If your five averages are 3.4, 3.2, 2.6, 3.1 and 2.0, the headline is 2.0 — Reactive, limited by the learning loop. That tells you where the operating process needs attention.
Keep Presence, Interpretation and Information readiness alongside this profile. They answer different questions and are not included in the management calculation.
